Danie completed his attorney articles following his BComm, LLB. During his articles, his expertise was litigation with most of his time spent in the civil and criminal court handling cases dealing with contract, delict, enrichment and applications, as well as numerous criminal proceedings acting as the defence attorney in the magistrates and regional courts. In 1995, Danie completed his bar exam and was admitted as an attorney of the Supreme Court in November 1995. In 1996, he joined PriceWaterhouseCoopers and completed his accounting articles whilst studying his BComptHons part-time through UNISA. In 1999, Danie qualified as a CA(SA) and has since been involved in corporate finance, including a secondment to the JSE Limited, which laid the foundation for his corporate finance career.
