Patrick completed his BCom in 2006 majoring in Finance, and his BComHons in Business Economics (Corporate Finance and Investment) in 2007. During his time at University, Patrick did his internship at Intrinsic Corporate Finance gaining valuable experience in capital raising, valuations and due diligence exercises. Patrick also had an internship with African Banking Corporation where he was involved in the investment banking arm of the group. Upon completion of his BCom, Patrick completed a Banking Group Program with Standard Bank Group. Patrick is also currently enrolled with the CFA programme and has completed Level 1.

A selection of the transactions Patrick has been involved with during his career is set out below:

• The rights offer and private placement for South African Coal Mining Holdings of R107 million (2008)
• The disposal by the DRDGOLD group of the 12.3% interest held in G.M. Network Limited for US$2.9 million (2008)
• Due diligence investigation for the acquisition of Wilcote (Pvt) Ltd (2006)
• The issue of commercial paper by Cottco (Plc) Ltd  (2005)
